Ethernet is the key word in the heat today in the business world for network connectivity. Since Ethernet is a popular choice solution .... did not mean it should be a choice for your network. Must guarantee the right to ask questions to consider when your Ethernet network backbone.

I think the answer is simple. Many of the network, equipment, systems, and knowledge available in the market based on Ethernet technology. The benefits of this technology is clear beyond all others.

In my experience very few new networks built. This expansion made the upgrade, layer, or an enhancement to the existing network in a gradual way. If all the Critical Business and the risk of change very time one is too high.

Whether to use the local LAN / Wan infrastructure - 100%. Will run voice, video, data and your network - 100%.

Clear is that you will use Gigabit Ethernet. Must use a static IP address to the call, look out for the switch. DHCP and VLAN's can also work, but not as effective as static.

Make sure that the server capacity of VoIP phone at the same time (if you have VoIP) - the same call server 75 can carry nearly 400 anonymous call was dropped.

Also check the available channels on the VoIP server for inbound and outbound calls. For example, if you will use your system between the branches, inbound calls you to be the same channels available ... or more .... from your outgoing calls.

This is important, say you start your system from 30 outbound and 45 inbound configuration. If you do call out important and you are caller 31 outbound .... and one called Collage at locations other branches ... outgoing calls you will be cut if there is already 45 in the process inbound calls. This happens because your system has been specifically set up inter-branch calling.

Video Bandwidth draft and should ensure the amount of bandwidth used by each video effect. So, you have to calculate the percent Dropout. What I mean by this .... if 20 people make video conference calls at the same time, will be enough or Bandwidth.

Between the branches, I recommend MPLS with the fact that you can run some of the same technologies Bandwidth.

Clear solution should accommodate DS3 or OC3 infrastructure at this time. If now you can not handle the infrastructure, you should upgrade.

For help in designing an Ethernet network foundation for your business .... I recommend taking advantage of the services available through an Ethernet network Solutions. Their assistance is free, and they often can get special rates from providers in a particular field.
